Intern/Volunteeer Positions

Overview of FLOW 93.5 FM's Internship/Volunteer Program

FLOW 93.5 FM has an extensive intern, co-op and volunteer program. Our program provides college/university students and others interested in broadcasting with the opportunity to learn aspects of the radio industry that will most benefit them in their career aspirations.

The deadlines to apply for the fall/winter co-op placements are as follows:

September - December placement (apply by July 31)
January - June placement (apply by November 15)
FLOW 93.5 FM prefers to work with co-op students who are available for full day placements, however we may consider other arrangements.

The positions that are available for interns and volunteers are as follows:

Marketing/Promotions Department

  • Administrative help (filing, sending faxes, etc.)
  • Assisting with promotional paperwork (ie. completing winner sheets, general winner maintenance, prize administration)
  • Assisting with reading and summarizing proposal requests
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Managing listener emails - daily printing and review of email comments
  • Work with the street team to promote FLOW 93.5 with listeners

New Media Department
  • Writing content for www.flow935.com
  • Graphic design and web page programming

School Year Co-Op Placement/Internship Program (September - June)

During the school year, FLOW 93.5 has opportunities for a limited number of post-secondary students in full-time placements.

The deadlines to apply for the fall/winter co-op placements are as follows:

September - December placement (apply by July 31)
January - June placement (apply by November 15)
FLOW 93.5 FM prefers to work with co-op students who are available for full day placements, however we may consider other arrangements.

Summer Internship Program (May - August)

FLOW 93.5 FM has a summer internship program that operates from the beginning of May through the end of August. The internship program accommodates five interns per period, for four-week intervals. The intern's commitment is a 40-hour week, and FLOW 's commitment is to expose the intern to the aspects of the radio industry that will most benefit him/her in his/her career aspirations.

The deadlines to apply for the summer internship are as follows:

May placement (apply by March 31)
June placement (apply by April 30)
July placement (apply by May 31)
August placement (apply by June 30)

General Volunteer Positions

FLOW 93.5 FM has a limited number of volunteer positions available. If you are not enrolled in a co-op program and are interested in a general volunteer position, you are welcome to apply as per the description below. Volunteer placements can last anywhere from 1-4 months. FLOW 93.5 FM reviews volunteer applications monthly.

How to apply:

If you are interested in applying for a co-op placement or a summer internship, you must submit the following information:
-a resume
-a cover letter indicating:
a) the dates of the placement period you are applying for;
b) what department you would like to focus on (see descriptions above)
c) if the placement is for school credit, indicate the details of your school's co-op/intern program structure (number of hours, length of placement, etc.);
d) if you are applying for a general , indicate what times of the day you are available to volunteer.
